At the time, I removed commenting partially because more people were sharing posts on social media than taking the time to write a comment and also because it was unproductive to manage increased spam. It is a lot of content and it makes us feel content. Look at that word content. Mass media (and social media particularly) force-feeds us the first instance of content every day. When we read stories about couples who split as the result of Facebook , we blame the content and never feel content.

97 Percent of Blog Comments are Mollom Spam

I’ve since deactivated Mollom and brought back Akismet, after a weekend away saw eight Mollom-approved comments which are really spam. The WordPress plugin shows me two graphs that indicate 1,679 potential blog comments were marked as spam. The positive aspect about Mollom is I will never see spam comments.

That involves reading something on social media or elsewhere on the internet and neither liking, commenting, nor sharing. The content creator rarely knows if someone lurks. If you can write someone an email, you can add a comment. It’s your comment. Third, write the actual comment. Are you scared?
