There’s an interesting discussion going on over at the Moz Blog in the comments of Bill Sebald’s article, “ Building Better Content By Improving On Your Competitors.” That is useful stuff, but then it gets even more useful because the comments are full of additional ideas that people share.

Facebook Comments – This system allows you to comment on a blog and see your comments appear on your Facebook wall. Your comment also appears on your friends’ walls. Then, when they comment, their comments appear on the original blog post. Be sure to monitor the community page (wink wink).

He recently decided to turn the comments to his blog completely off. There is a strong support community. A huge development community is always at work to make WordPress better. If you know who John Battelle is, then you’re doing good. He’s one of the pioneers of the Internet and actually has quite a following.

Your main aim is to increase your community’s size. You try to spark lively debate in the comments section of your blog and promote your blog through as many social media channels as you can. This may include but is not limited to BlogCatalog, Facebook, Twitter, niche social sites, and a myriad of social bookmarking communities.

Make sure you read the comments because once again, the community has some good advice. Each step has links to amplify the instructions if you need help. This is a great thing to keep bookmarked so you can find it fast. This is not an automated process, any more than using a sharp knife should be automated.
