The title of the Canadian Press article was Students failing because of Twitter, texting and no grammar teaching , but I don’t necessarily agree with that. This is something that should be taught in basic communications classes. Rather, I think what we have is the clash of two worlds and two kinds of language.

Third Grade Show and Tell: Online Privacy

My daughter proudly introduced me to the class by saying, “my dad wrote a book about work.” A few were familiar with Twitter. We ended up having a great conversation about online privacy, which was made all the more interesting by the students relating their experiences firsthand. Most of the kids knew about Facebook and YouTube.
