Is it me or is the summer slowly fading away? Weeks just seem to be falling over one another at an alarming rate. This week was a busy one for me with the boss out and a coworker on PTO yesterday and today so I was on Jeff Island. I know it is a scary place. The week also had our team working on some international PR, have to love the challenges of communicating with reporters when they are on the next day. I would love to visit Australia, but was not as thrilled checking emails for a response from a reporter as I was getting into bed. I have also been working on some things behind the scenes with some folks for an interesting announcement for the early September that I am excited about. Nothing major or earth-shattering more nerdy than anything. So with that, I will stop rambling and deliver you this week’s edition of Five for Friday.

Social Media Marketing – The Japanese Way – Other cultures and Social Media tend to fascinate me. So when I saw this article, I was truly intrigued. This article hits on some really cool trends and happenings in the space across the Globe. The usage of news sharing sites is really something that is fresh and new so definitely give it a look.

A Case Study In Launching A Facebook Page – There are a lot of “How To” articles on Facebook pages, but not many offer clear cut reasons why. Well that is where John Haydon’s post stands out. Not only does he outline why things should be done, but he shows examples that worked for a client.

Women Dominant on Social Networks – If you ever wondered who dominates the social space, look no further than this article from Marketing Profs. Given the general natures of the two genders, this should not surprise anyone, but the content is still pretty cool.

R.I.P. 3 Ways Facebook is Killing Your Website – Hold back the looks and cross-eyed stares at the title for a minute. Jay Baer makes some great points about putting all of your eggs in one basket. Facebook is rented space so it will be interesting to ponder what would happen if the mega-social site were ever to fold.

Top 10 Signs You Are the Official Social Media Nerd Of Your Company – It is OK to admit that you are a geek, dork, etc. All of us are in some way shape or form. The big question is: are you the biggest one at your company? I know I am.
