Apple Should Not Buy Twitter
MARCH 26, 2012
I was just reading a GigaOm article titled, “ Should Apple Buy Twitter? But now there is speculation Apple could buy the social networking giant with some of their cash reserves (it’s also said they have so much money, they could buy Facebook and Research In Motion ). . ” It likely comes as no surprise to you that I’m shocked Twitter is still around.
The iPad Should Be Free
OCTOBER 12, 2012
In a world where Apple not only sells their iPad (ranging from $400 - $900) and also controls the majority of the content that you can put on it from iTunes , why wouldn't they deploy a similar model to Amazon's in the hopes of owning the consumer by way of the hardware? It's about the cumulative and ongoing buying of content (books, music, movies, TV shows, magazine and more) that Amazon offers. But, if they're selling something for 15% less than Best Buy , how can anybody compete with them? What does Amazon know about you, your buying habits and your lifestyle?
Rumors on Upcoming iPhone 5 and iPad 3

iPad 2s and iPhone 4s are flying off shelves, but Apple is not going to leave all of 2011 to two single product releases. This has many specialists asking, when are iPad 3s and iPhone 5s going to be seen on store shelves? Due to a large increase of purchases on top of the generic supplies for the iPhone 4 and iPad 2, it has many people beginning to ask questions and make guesses.

Online Video Is Just As Expensive As TV Advertising
MAY 8, 2014
Without any data, my gut was telling me that online publishers are keenly aware of the CPMs being coughed up by the major networks, and that they were leveraging their own size and specialty to edge their prices ever-closer to TV in a bid to make a run at more significant advertising budgets. A few weeks ago, Research Brief published a news item, Untargeted Online Tonnage Buys Comparable to Selected TV CPM Norm , that validated this thinking. You have to wonder just how power online video advertising really is. So, you get targeting, brand awareness and cost savings. That works. content.

Google's Third Wave Of Innovation
APRIL 16, 2014
Is it normal that a search engine is buying up all of the robotics and drone companies? As consumers move from desktops PCs and laptops to smartphone and tablets, Google has continued to innovate and own the mobile landscape, and this includes being hyper-competitive in relation to Apple and the staggering success of the iPhone and iPad. If you''re in the marketing profession, you have to be scratching your head at the moves that Google has made over the past little while. Google''s first wave of innovation. Social Commerce And The New Consumer
APRIL 8, 2011
It's everything from smartphones and iPads to connectivity and connections. These evolutions of technology, media and the general digitization of information is forcing brands to rethink the most fundamental question they have ever asked themselves: "why do people buy from us?" Many people are looking at how brands are changing because of Social Media and technology, I prefer to look at how consumers have changed their buying habits because of Social Media and new technology. The consumer of today looks nothing like the consumer of yesterday. content. commerce.
Is The Next New Digital Thing Something Physical?
AUGUST 24, 2012
My mind went wandering. I was reading the Gadgetwise blog on The New York Times and came across the news item, Batman's New Perch Above Gotham: Your iPad. The toys can glide over the iPad screen without doing any damage. My iPad doesn't collect much dust (unlike my CD, DVD, book and comic book collections). Virtual goods are one thing. Brands are still stuck on the physical. It was all about a new game/toy/app from Mattel called, Apptivity. Mattel and Batman aren't the first to do this ( Lego and Crayola have offerings as well). The thing is, that technology can now enhance the business travel experience. If you do many trips within North America, do yourself a favor and get a Nexus card. Never check baggage.

In fact, I've been a huge advocate for the iPad, but since I've been working on my MacBook Air, there hasn't really been a need to use the iPad as well. People often forget that a lot of the joy derived from the concert experience is actually in the waiting, anticipation and getting ready for the big day. Old habits die hard. Bad plan. Recently. It's hard to imagine that the iPhone is only five years old and that three years ago, there was no iPad. In the past few weeks, we've seen both Microsoft and Google come forward with their own tablets in an attempt to dethrone the iPad. In looking at a myriad of data points, it's clear that the iPad is the dominant player. Why I’m Writing This On An iPad
JUNE 2, 2010
When the iPad came out I was vehemently against the idea of getting one, for several reasons: No multitasking. How things change. I’m writing this post on my shiny new iPad, while sitting on a plane to Montreal. When I had to power down ahead of take-off, I just hit a button and slid the iPad into the seat-back in front of me. Have you or will you get an iPad?

Tablets (in particular, the iPad - which is the dominant player) are changing online shopping and it's forcing the physical store experience to evolve as well. After buying a tablet, 29% of tablet owners claimed they stopped surfing the Internet via their PC and/or laptop. When that happens, you are more likely to buy and try new experiences. Would this coming holiday shopping for tablets be (once again) dominated by Apple 's iPad or did Amazon develop a truly worthy contender?
