Social Media Loves Valentine’s Day: 2014 Campaigns

Valentine's messages on Times Square billboardLove it or hate it, Valentine’s Day is a great opportunity for social marketers to create a holiday-themed campaign.  Here are some of our favorites from this year:

  • Valentine’s vs. House of Cards: here’s a great compilation of brand tweets capitalizing either on the holiday, the release of House of Cards hotly anticipated Season 2, or a combination of the two (and  once again, Oreo is brilliant).
  • TGI Fridays lures singles with chicken wings: looking to attract singles during the week of Valentine’s Day (Feb 10-14), Twitter users tweeted @tgifridays with hashtag #thankswingman for the chance to win a $15 gift card toward chicken wings (the first 500 to do so each won a card). According to AdWeek, the campaign “takes aim at singles going out on the town and looking for romance.”
  • For basketball lovers, tweeted valentines: check out this compilation of cheesy but cute Valentine’s tweets from the big ten (college) basketball teams.
