Sirens

If I lived in a more urban area, the police might be needed to assist with repelling the left-wing anti-fascists and the right-wing white supremacists, the two vocal fringe groups responsible for most of the rioting, looting, and gang violence in inner cities over the past week. Maybe I’m wrong. The sirens are gone now.

At least, not with groups of people. As libraries shortly open up for limited browsing, I’ll order the books from the website and presumably do curbside pickup of those too. It’s unofficially the start of summer. Beaches, boating, barbecues. Fun in the sun. I won’t be participating in those events this summer.

I called it for what it was: a group of kids chanting about Jews. I was appointed to a leadership team for Jewish InterAction, a nonprofit social group for young adults in the Boston area. The group had two programmatic themes: Jewish enrichment and social justice. I chose the latter.
