Whereas an ePortfolio contains actual assets for the purpose of reflection, assessment or self-promotion, the PLE includes a broader repository that also includes links and commentary for all three purposes. Users must be able to export their PLE repository in some generic format for safekeeping, especially if the PLE is a web service.
