And one thing I discovered very quickly about the photo community is if you want comments, you better start giving comments first. I started out on sites by photo bloggers I met at a photowalk in downtown Phoenix and branched out from there with people in their comments and on their blogrolls. In Google Reader, of course.

My good friend, Avinash Kaushik (Digital Marketing Evangelist at Google) has a great startup called, Market Motive that offers self-paced and coached online courses that are well-worth the money as well. For a few hundred dollars over at Amazon to going through the blogroll at the left of this blog post (for free!), google reader.

Some news sites are supplementing content links with direct questions and comments to users, but this does not appear to be happening in any significant volume. To judge user engagement and activity, I also calculated the average number of “likes” and comments that the last 10 updates/links to each page received. NPR 489,413 513.5

After reviewing several days’ worth of activity, I have to say that nearly anything Fox News posts to its page ends up getting a decent amount of likes and comments from fans. Even more mundane news items still manage to spark a round of commenting. Which News Sites Have the Most Valuable Facebook Pages?
