My blog is on WordPress, which is very popular for its rich feature set, wide variety of (generally free) third-party plug-ins and themes, and ability to use widgets. Everything is managed from the WordPress Web site. WordPress even has a cool iPhone app. With this version of WordPress I can easily change themes, install and remove plug-ins and customize my blog. If you have a WordPress blog, it comes with its own commenting system. You see, the WordPress system allows people to be alerted when someone comments on their comment, but Livefyre allows people to be alerted when anyone comments, driving interest, conversation, and debate. There are content “farms” whose sole job is to move throughout the blogosphere and scrape (or steal) content they then publish on their own sites/blogs. The latest Technorati State of the Blogosphere study shows that 18% of the blogging world is made up of “professional bloggers.” get them 95% finished and save them as draft on WordPress. If it gets to WordPress it’s getting shipped. It’s a typical, grey, Michigan winter day. People are heading home trotting quickly to their cars bundled against the cold air. One cube warrior walks a touch slower than the rest. He’s lost in thought. You can see the steam rising from his moving lips. It looks like he’s recording something into one of those iPhone headsets. Breakdown of the Blogosphere. The History of WordPress. As you know, infographics are visual representations of information, data, or knowledge. They present complex concepts quickly and clearly, and communicate ideas in an easily understandable fashion. Last year, I assembled a collection of 35 infographics that told the story of social media at that time.
