One tool I like to use when looking for large blogs in a niche is Google Reader, and more specifically its ‘Browse for Feeds’ feature. You can do this by logging into your Google Reader account and clicking ‘Browse for feeds’ on the left menu. Compete Details. Google Reader Subscriber Counts.

I’m competing against them in one industry and all factors would suggest I should outrank them, but I simply don’t. Attractionhowto.com is a really terrible website and doesn’t even have the six pages I counted unless you include their RSS feed. 1 site ranking Wikihow. to only real comments.

First, if you look at their traffic stats with Compete you can see that they have traffic spikes and dips at around the same time: Then, looking at feed subscribers , despite the large difference at the start of the graph, their growth rate is on a very similar consistent rise. In fact, my search only turned up one guest post each.

Zen Habits , with over 190,000 feed subscribers, is a blog with emphasis on productivity and minimalism. My audience has grown steadily with virtually no marketing, and I have no niche to compete with.
