Twitter recently announced new rate limits on how many “hits” to the API it will allow. Twitter is changing the number of times the application can do that from 350 per hour to 60. In this diagram taken from the Twitter developer blog they break Twitter’s ecosystem up into 4 quadrants.

Decide what the best communication method is for each blogger. Follow all of the links you find to see how relevant the other material that person is posting is.

I’ve seen company bloggers who try to pick whatever is trending on Twitter and talk about it so they show up with the trending conversations. In addition posts to the trending topics attract more spam than almost anything else on Twitter. If they’ve got a Twitter user name share it when you post about it.

There are stories of activists using Twitter to transmit summaries from police scanners to let protesters know what actions police are taking too. Responsible use of social media is up to all of us.

The network itself is reminiscent of a mix of the best features of FriendFeed , Facebook and a few other networks, and as Kit Eaton pointed out in her Google+ post on Fast Company the network seems positioned to take over from Foursquare , Instagram , Facebook and maybe even Twitter and Quora.

By doing this, Frank reached thousands of people through Google Plus , Twitter , Facebook and several blogs , possibly many more than the Occupy Wall St folks simply because of his own network combined with the powerful networks who were at Pivotcom.
