I’d love to befriend everyone or even specify groups of friends to which I’d subscribe so that I can get updates delivered to my RSS reader (versus other updates that I would check on a more infrequent basis), though for the time being, the team has not worked that out. Sometimes I’m unable to follow and I feel lost.

For knowledge worker ninjas, RSS is your shuriken. I have been using various RSS readers for nearly five years now - Ive tried them all. However, none matches the power of Google Reader. Some of these may work with RSS readers from Newsgator, Bloglines and others but they are written with Google in mind.).

If you see that a certain site is sending a lot of RSS subscribers, you can work to get more traffic from that source. If you find that your readers go to the top right hand side of the page, you can put an ad there or something else that you want to get viewed. You can never have too many backups.

I went from having over 150 blogs in my feed reader in the last few years to just 12, purely because I was seeing the same content over, and over (and over) again. Many bloggers are finding similar results, so they proudly display their most popular posts in their footer or blog sidebar. I’ve just added You to RSS Feeder.

Utilise Reciprocity If I link to the same blogger in three different blog posts there’s a good chance that they’re going to eventually link to me back.

Track things like audience/community sentiment (positive/negative) if you want to map effort to results. Get a Gmail.com account for use with reader, calendar, docs, and more. Build RSS outposts on Facebook. Add Flog Blog, and several other RSS tools. Remember that community and marketplace are two different things.
