When an application like Hootsuite, Tweetdeck or a mobile Twitter app like Tweetbot checks your account on Twitter, it’s what is called an “API Call” This does NOT include the number of messages you send through these tools, only the number of times the tool hits the Twitter server to check for more. So who cares?

I went into my Google reader and deleted every blog that hadn’t posted within the last 30 days. Now I can quickly scan the headlines of the blogs who really do add value on just one page. Hootsuite works well for this too. This works well with blog posts too. Tweetdeck , Seesmic or Hootsuite.

Learn more about how to create Google+ Communities on the Tatu Digital Media Blog. Being able to add and view content from a tool like Hootsuite or Sprout Social and maybe add some analytics would be a boon to keeping the C-suite happy and seeing which content the community really wants to discuss. I follow almost 4,000 people on Twitter , over 1500 on Linkedin , and more on Facebook , Google+ , blogs , forums, a zillion social networks, wikis and more. I also use Hootsuite which is good for scheduling a series of tweets for when you may be traveling or getting close to an event you want people to know about. Check the mirror.
