Plug any URL into Topsy and see who tweeted it and which users were most influential (and which have a blog). It’s not the same 20 every time – Twitter randomly shuffles in 20 profiles from the group it has deemed worthy of recommendation. Since new users aren’t always sure exactly how to use Twitter, this starter group can be quite helpful, so the profiles that are featured do end up getting a steady stream of new followers.

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to devote much time to blogging this year. The good news behind that is that Define Media Group , which split off from The New York Times Company a year ago, is doing well and there is plenty of client work keeping us busy. Looking back I only averaged 2-3 posts per month. But I’ll give it a whirl.

They are indeed #2 in terms of total fans (among the group of news sites that I looked at). Mike, I should have included MSNBC in the original group. The Daily Telegraph has N/A for likes and comments because they do not appear to posting any updates or links at this time. Their fan engagement figures also rank high.

I started with the group I used in my news sites domain authority post and added a few more. News moved it to the top of the group for articles and knocked Guardian.co.uk To get a basic idea I ran Page Speed , the open source Firefox/Firebug add-on that Google recommends, on the home page of 25 news sites. UPDATE: Adding Yahoo!
