What to do…It’s 2012 and you’ve been blogging for almost a year now with no success. To add insult to injury, your Google analytics show that you get about 25 visitors to your blog every day, and you’re pretty sure that you, your family, and the GoogleBot account for about half of those.

Just a heads-up…your blog may need some Spring cleaning, too. So in preparation for my blog Spring cleaning, I thought I’d put together a checklist of things that I want to do that would positively impact my SEO and I figured I’d share it in hopes that might help you out. Are those widgets slowing down your blog?

The conversation primarily revolved around whether the “always on” nature of sites like Twitter require that you tweet 24 hours a day, since your followers aren’t necessarily in the same time zone. Personally, I do leverage tools like Paper.li, but as an aggregation tool, not for the purpose of filler tweets.

While not necessarily a new site (it launched in beta in 2010), Pinterest is coming into its own with a female-dominated demographic that has rocketed past Etsy in membership and traffic. The site has captured the attention of women – Finally, and most importantly, Pinterest has captured the attention of women on the Web.

With statements like these from their blog : The Klout Score doesn’t mean that Robert Scoble is more influential in the world than Obama. Just try deleting your Klout profile and see if the profile actually disappears from the site. They complain when it goes down. Yet, when asked, they have no idea what caused it to decrease.

Until recently, I just saw it as another social bookmarking tool like Digg , Delicious , or Reddit. And while each of those are important to helping you in your blog distribution plan, I treated StumbleUpon as just another place to submit a bookmark to my site so I could create an inbound link. Write blog articles about them.

Without people and their personal relationship information, social media sites like Facebook and Twitter would be reduced to…well…MySpace. Apple employees are not allowed to help their customers on any of the Apple or Mac sites. Social media and social networking are both about connecting people. Email this to a friend?
