While my personal one is not “secret&# per se, and even has the same avatar/photo as my professional one, I find it much more useful to compartmentalize, both for following others and being followed. Get An Avatar – An avatar is a simple image that will represent you wherever they go. An avatar can really be anything that you like. I’ve been running a street fashion site for over two years now, and things have slowly (albeit very slowly) gotten better. This advice helps puts some things in context.

Add an avatar and a bio at the minimum. I’m not connected to the LinkedIn individual who spammed me, but he still took the liberty to use my email address for his personal gain in a completely unsolicited fashion. ’ People still perceive the social web (facebook, myspace, youtube etc.) Not humanizing your profile.
