Become a Knowledge Management Ninja with Google Reader. I have been using various RSS readers for nearly five years now - Ive tried them all. However, none matches the power of Google Reader. Some of these may work with RSS readers from Newsgator, Bloglines and others but they are written with Google in mind.).

I needed to differentiate Digg from social media because they actually are part of a distinctive community (and as you know, I’m very passionate about Digg so it really did deserve its own category). Digg I blindly accept friend requests and rarely if ever pay attention to “shouts&#. Wonderful job!

I scan 275 RSS feeds in Google Reader and I use dozens of bookmarklets and shortcuts to help me manage it all. In addition, if youre a Google Readers shared items (yes, you Scoble !) or Google Reader shared feed through Yahoo Alerts. Hence, my Google Desktop can search my bookmarks AND [toread] clippings.

Bookmark from Google Reader. If you’re a fan of Google Reader, then you’ll definitely want to start using Google Reader + del.icio.us. This is a Greasemonkey script that puts an “add to del.icio.us&# button at the bottom of each post in Google Reader. conversation.

It helps build loyalty, generate conversations, and it also gets you more followers if you do it right. Do your updates request for conversations? You can also get Google Analytics installed on your Facebook Fan page. If you don’t have alerts set up to notify you of conversations involving your brand, do it now.

Yes, Twitter and Facebook and Digg and other niche sites cost nothing to join, making social media a relatively free marketing option. It is nice to see people having an honest conversation. Equipment and supplies might be relatively affordable, but at the end of the day, you’re paying for time and possessed expertise.

Start conversing with the people you want to have follow you, and do it consistently. I had it for my NY METS buddies as we tend to have conversations that are lengthy which interferes with my twitter stream for biz but it was still me. You only need to use it when you want to have lengthier conversations. I was still me.
