APRIL 21, 2012 [Attensity, Sentiment] Social Media Analytics Summit 2012 San Francisco #smas12 and Web Journal April 15th -21st
Spoke at the Social Media Analytics Summit earlier this week in San Francisco; the conference was packed and pretty good, most people I spoke with were happy with the content. My general impression, based on the sessions I listened to , were … Attensity and NetBase were the big winners at this show (but both also had booths). Attensity and INattensity/Carasoft are two separate companies, INattensity was spun off to deal with mostly Defense contracts and business – I have seen some of the the government facing work INattensity has done last year for the UK.

What about the social backlash? In this screenshot of a report by analytics firm Attensity the sentiment about Susan G Komen is pretty darn clear. While up to now it was largely neutral according to this post on the Attensity blog, things have changed dramatically. Read the post there for Attensity’s take on the matter. I wrote about the Forrester Wave™: Social Media Listening Platforms, Q1 2009 a year ago and just found out today a new wave has been released from a friend - The Forrester Wave™: Listening Platforms, Q3 2010 - C onverseon, Nielsen, And Radian6 Lead A Fragmented Market by Zach Hofer-Shall with Suresh Vittal ( who I saw most recently at the Sentiment Analysis Symposium in NYC a few months ago ), Emily Murphy, Michael J. Powers, which dropped off the Wave this time (perhaps it was due to Biz360′s recent acquisition by Attensity – don’t know about J.D.
