As a blogger, there are numerous tools at your disposal to track how your content is doing. Because if you are creating content, you are likely distributing and promoting that content in variety of ways, including social media. Enter: PostRank. It isn’t that we need a tool that does everything.

Figuring out how to do this with particular systems might pose a specific challenge, especially if those networks only allow you to import one RSS feed. Creating a Custom RSS Feed. The solution to this would be having an RSS feed with only your content in it from each of the sources you write for. xml version="1.0"

At the end of the day, driving eyeballs to my blog isn’t really the ultimate goal, writing useful and appreciated content is. These were the top 10 visited blog articles I wrote in the past year. Most achieved a Postrank of higher then 6, and 9 out of the 10 articles dealt with social media.

A prime example is this article on Aston Kutcher who is wildly admired for his Twitter fan base. Now, as I said in an earlier blog post, you should use several different metrics to dig deeper into your audience and see what’s really happening with the content your sharing. But is number of users the best metric to track?

So after a full weekend of removing feeds that hadn’t updated in a year, I began to slowly collect feeds from new bloggers I have connected with since the last time I did a full sweep of my RSS subscriptions. I can access my RSS feeds on any computer I am logged into my Google account. The result? Why I Use Google Reader.
