Some people suggested I get an iPad but that was an illogical decision for me unless I also had an iPhone. I’m also a Google user, active with GMail and YouTube and Docs and other Google applications, which run seamlessly on the tablet. It’s installed with Honeycomb today. Besides, I have an iPad for that. This is not about discipline and not using certain applications. This is about not needing social networking or cloud applications 24/7. If I want to take lots of pictures at better resolutions, I have a camera. I bought my first smartphone — a BlackBerry Curve 8330 — in August 2006.

Geolocation applications allow you to share your location with other people and associate that location to restaurants, events, and other real-world venues. I blew up her picture on my phone to see what she looked like, and I noticed her sitting with an iced coffee several feet away doing something on her iPad. I’m Ari.

Keeping afloat the ocean of new technology isn’t cheap, and there ARE drawbacks to lacking the fancy schmancy iPads and iPhones and iWhatever-the-Heck-Else people are using these days.
