Besides Google Android, the tablet king Apple iPad is about to get a taut rival in Windows 8. Microsoft has already previewed its ARM compatible Windows 8 and a dedicated app store called the Windows Store for it. Maybe, Google’s Android might not have overcome Apple iPad in number of products sold.

There aren’t too many great social networking apps for the iPad, but I have found a select few that I find myself using on a regular basis. Synchs with Google Reader which is a major plus and easy to share articles to your networks. Bonus Shout Out: Just launched yesterday, the Bing iPad app is crazy good.

The Dropbox application has become so big that the San Francisco Chronicle recently highlighted them in a feature article. The article makes a terrific point in that people feel more secure saving their most cherished data with a company like Dropbox that isn’t as pervasive as behemoths Google, Microsoft or Apple.
