What Is Google Analytics?

Google Analytics is a free web analytics tool of Google that helps to measure website traffic. This tool was launched on 14th Nov 2005, and it is the most widely used web analytics tool for all online businesses.

The benefits of using Google Analytics are that it gives you complete insights of the user activities on the website, it provides you with real-time and tangible data, it also gives you valuable feedback to your website pages/links and many more.

So, these are a few of the many benefits of using Google Analytics for your website.

In this article, I intend to let you know about how to add website to google analytics. So here we go.

GA4 V/s Google Analytics

  1. In GA4 data is collected in the form of events, here everything is an event whereas in Universal Analytic data is collected in the form of Page Views and Sessions.
  2. In GA4 Views doesn’t exist where as in Universal Analytics (UA), you see data and reports.
  3. In Universal Analytics, there are 3 levels of hierarchy, that is Account, Property, and Views whereas in GA4 there is no more Views. Instead of Views we have Data Streams.
  4. Unlike with views in UA, right now there is no features available in GA4 where Data Streams can be filtered to exclude or include certain data. A Data Stream can be either be an application or a website.
  5. In GA4 we don’t have bounce rate, page per session, and average session duration, instead we have Engaged Sessions, Engagement Rates, Engaged sessions per user, Average engagement time, Event count, Conversions, and Total revenue whereas in UA or Google Analytics whole data model is based on sessions and page views.
  6. Coming to the report part in UA, it is the huge collection of standard reports. Such as All traffic, Google Ads report, Search console, Campaign reporting, and many more whereas in GA4 there is much fewer standard report. For example, in Acquisition there are three reporting those are Acquisition overview, User acquisition, and Traffic acquisition. Therefor GA4 is build to collect data more efficiently than Google Analytics.

These are the few of the differences we have pointed here is to make you clear about the difference between UA and GA4.
