Imagine my surprise when I logged into my Google Analytics dashboard and observed a 50% reduction in unique visitors since a year ago. If nothing else, let this be a challenge to myself to determine if my analytics can indicate a 50% increase in the next 30 days. Who wants to see me succeed? Stay tuned. Got a question?

Study your analytics. Content is king and therefore key to spreading your brand (and trust me, if you have a thumbnail and a Twitter handle, you are a brand). Tracking simple analytical data can guide you to more effective communication on all your platforms. You should also share and interact on Facebook and LinkedIn.

I couldn’t differentiate the two because of overlapping audiences and brand confusion — and deleted my page. Freelancers, consultants, and solopreneurs should have a separate page for their brand, Tamar tells me, if they derive 100% of their income from that brand. I didn’t. Income came from multiple places.

Brand your blog with your website, Facebook page, business card, and other marketing channels. Use Google Analytics or similar to track metrics. Set up the user experience via themes, plugins, layout, sidebar widgets, colors, fonts, and menus. Set up administrative functions, especially if you will have multiple authors/editors.
