I looked at Meltwater Buzz a couple of months back and thought it offered a better platform than Radian6 (which is a good option in itself and often used as the industry example). What I mean is that California for example always shows up with the most posts. Historical data seemed more robust as well. Is that not true?

I actually think a lot of these questions often come from the client side (Q 3 is a great example of this) – and where equipped, PR firms (or whoever is providing advice) should help with their understanding / education by using the questions you've suggested.
