As a freelance writer specializing in the online marketing niche, I can say that the blogs that consistently publish longer content (900+ words) are the most successful. Google looks down on duplicate content and typically ranks the original publisher first for content anyway. Other blogs expect to be the sole publisher of the content.

I’ve written hundreds of guest posts for my blog in the past two years, a good portion of which were published on big blogs.
