Im an ex contributor to Shiny Media and I would be interested to know how you would categorise their blogs - they must be seen as taking part in a conversation, but as a commercial enterprise and in competing with mainsteam media, with the backing of major advertisers, do such high profile operations merit a further category? my myspace.

advertising? Advertising versus Free/Premium subscriptions. LinkedIn, in October 2009 had over 50 million members (plus 385 staff) $75-100m – 1/4 from advertising. I personally think that any social network that relies on traditional advertising for revenue is nuts. per member per year over at MySpace is NOT high.

I was told that the “mistake&# about the Foursquare-Facebook promotion was legitimate, since they were polling users on Facebook to find places where Foursquare badges can be given — yes, read that again. Seems odd to ask where to put FourSquare badges anyhow. I’m not convinced. Answers Yahoo!
