My first experiments were with Google AdSense and the Amazon Affiliate Program. Over the coming months I continued to experiment with AdSense and Amazon. At the time, AdSense was my #1 source of income but putting Chitika on my site almost doubled that income overnight and allowed me to go full time as a blogger!

Personal Update I recently noticed that ViperChill was regularly being shown on the first page of Google for the phrase ‘viral marketing’ While I haven’t pushed hard to rank for this phrase, I have optimised the site around that term. You’re the equivalent of Apple in the blogosphere. 2 is fantastic!

You should know that using some types of ads like Kontera (contextual advertising) and the likes on your blog will irritate a large percentage of your readers but using AdSense the right way will not affect your blog. I am reluctant to start adsense and was curious about the comment on using it properly so it’s not offensive.

Basically it lets you see which websites use the same hosting company, have the same IP addresses and use the same Google Analytics and Google Adsense tracking codes. Google Reader Subscriber Counts. In Google Reader you can see how many people are subscribing just via Google. Google Trends.

Although factors other than links apply, I will say that Google are very favourable towards Wikihow for a large number of terms. Spammy Forum Links Work — Some people laughed at me when I said that low-quality directory submissions and tools like Bookmarking demon still help me rank very highly in Google. 1 site ranking Wikihow.
