Here are some highlights: Klout has recently made changes to its algorithm, many of which appear to be in response to (heavy) criticism of the “influence” tool.

The Case For Active Users as Social Media Community Managers. Here’s an example: let’s say there is breaking news relevant to your brand or company. If they are already a social media user, chances ar they are personally active in the social media scene already. Don’t rely on a Klout score exclusively.

Like a lot of people, I’m registered on both Klout and Peerindex , which both attempt to track my online influence in slightly different ways to give one overall score which can be compared to others in my areas of interest. So are you on Klout, Peerindex and Empire Avenue? Measuring influence or just tracking loyalty?

On the pro accounts, you have the ability to load the Klout scores of your followers. The Klout Score is a number between 1-100 that represents your influence. The more influential you are, the higher your Klout Score, Barack Obama scores a 99 for example. image source. The Verdict.

The Harvard Business Review recently published a post entitled “ Return on Influence, the New ROI “ In it, the author suggested that marketers consider the use of “Return on Influence” as a metric for measuring social media activity. Measurement should be activity-specific. Measure an activity, not a medium.

Not that anyone cares about Klout scores (wink wink), but participating in regular discussions on Twitter will help boost your Klout rankings due to the increase in mentions of your @username in discussions.
