Rejuvene Salon & Spa was one of the suggestions for her and because Rejuvene actively uses Twitter, they were able to respond in a timely manner. Samantha received multiple responses from Lawrence twitterers about where she could get her hair done. A time was set up and Rejuvene had a new client (and possibly earned future customers).

I know that I’ll be much more active on the service if I get less of the crap and more of what I want, good interactions with friends. Rather than look at this alternative version of Facebook as a ripoff of Twitter I look at it as Facebook getting back to it’s roots.

They added a Facebook page and fired up a Twitter account which appears to be very active, which is great because a twitter account is pointless unless it interacts and becomes part of the discussion with its community. On top of all this, they leaped into the mobile social media aspect with the Foursquare specials.

But in general I think I want to see convergence of online activity towards waves. Maybe something that shows when someone I am following (or a contact) is active on twitter, or Facebook, etc. One thing I want to see is a Latex robot which I might help to build (something to convert Latex into equations).

Social business becomes serious play “Relatively new networks such as Foursquare are touted for the focus on making networked activity local and mobile. Essentially it is like a call center and bigger corporations should look into it. I like how small businesses in bigger cities are using it as an incentive to buy their products.
