In 2014 they announced similar changes and we assume they are still trying to balance out the desire of users to use the platform to see updates from friends and family as well as news and information that matters to them. What does this mean for Facebook users? It’s hard to say.

When we blame someone we make assumptions about the intentions behind what they’ve done (Malle, Guglielmo, & Monroe, 2014). If we expect to fail, we are actually more likely to fail ( Bénabou & Tirole, 2002 ). ?3. Let go of blame. Maybe we think they were intentionally cruel to us with the goal of hurting us.

A company called Cambridge Analytica used Facebook’s API in 2014 to collect personal information from over 50 million Facebook users. Back in 2014 it was perfectly legal for them to do this , and even within the terms of use for Facebook. Here’s more on that.
