I don’t know if “techertainment” is a thing or not, so if not, (c) 2011 Brandon Prebynski. Google Plus… feels a bit idle right now. Businesses will have to be able to find value in Google+ as a platform and network for it to pick up speed. Are you a social being in person? People motivate me.

In the meantime, Jesse's way of finding the RSS is as good as any, and you can still subscribe to user timelines in products like Google Reader by just adding a subscription to the profile URL, eg. I know because I had several Pages added to Google Reader, and I remember fishing through the HTML source and seeing the RSS link in the code.

Twitter has bought other companies in the social media analysis space— BackType (2011), Bluefin Labs (2013), Trendrr (2013)—but Gnip is a bigger deal. It also manages API access for Facebook, Google, and others that probably see Twitter as a competitor. If you weren''t sure, things just got interesting.

Most obvious of these is Google Analytics. Obviously, this is a limitation of API’s but I wish the information could be tailored to the audience based on tags and categories. Foursquare’s geolocation API was used for geofilters and location tagging in apps like Snapchat, Twitter, and Instagram. Demand was so high that Google eventually had to suspend them.
