I virtually never use the web site – I do my tweeting from my iPhone (Tweetie) and from two desktop applications (Tweetdeck and Twhirl when I am monitoring multiple Twitter accounts). Further digging has found they looked only at domain traffic , not traffic coming from third party apps that connect to Twitter via its open API.

It’s very active, and one of the most rewarding efforts you will embark upon, so give it your time and energy. In TweetDeck , a 3rd-party application that I think is a must for using and managing Twitter, ReTweeting is very easy. Relationship-building is not a passive marketing tool. Don’t give up! HootSuite puts all the accounts in one single interface (you can do the same with TweetDeck and Seesmic, I believe), but in terms of passwords, I usually use KeePass to store them with other relevant account information. Then, focus your energy on the main account but don’t neglect the second account either.
