I was at HP from 2004 to 2007 and one year I was fortunate enough to be a judge at the company’s OneVoice marketing awards. In book form. HP has a huge advantage over Google in an endeavor like this. The company knows how to print things.

When I signed up in June, 2007, Twitter, launched publicly in July, 2006, was less than a year old. So people who sell/market to pet owners target me, and they couldn’t be further off their demographic. If you do the math on the cost of a couple of books, my 10,000th subscriber was really expensive. Everyone was an early adopter.
