I remember when commenting was a feature at the bottom of every newspaper and media website article. Initially, anyone could add a comment without a profile. That led to vulgarity and incivility, which in turn began moderation with publishers employing a mix of robot algorithms and human checkers. I like email too.

I am disabling blog commenting on this post and into the future. My reason is simple: You’re reading but you’re not commenting. It is a time management task to ensure comments are real and not spam and I’m seeing lots of spam comments try to get published. Commenting is not that place anymore.

The time spent on Blog-reading and commenting is really astounding.
