Rachel Jonat joined Facebook in 2006. I scroll through the newsfeed and click like on this and comment on that, but I find more value in psychographic groups. Comments I got Facebook early on out of curiosity and I'm still trying. Over time, she recognized the time suck. Everyone does. She did what few of us have the guts to do.

I bought my first smartphone — a BlackBerry Curve 8330 — in August 2006. I’m going dumb and I welcome fellow dumb humans to comment below. Comments Cheers. Besides, I have an iPad for that. If I want to take lots of pictures at better resolutions, I have a camera. I think this is a smart decision.

I have been involved in some form with the Social Media Club Boston Chapter since its founding in 2006, and remain so to this day, currently serving as a member of the board. I bought a BlackBerry Curve 8330 in August 2006 — with the specific intent to use the smartphone at a government technology summit I was to attend later that month. I’ve kept it through the 2-year Verizon Wireless contract but have used it less and less since the spring. I care less about the other applications in my pocket.

If 37,447,814 YouTube views of the above cat video since December 2006 are any indication, people like to watch funny cats.
