It was also the first blog I made money from by putting some Adsense ads on and referring people to Amazon with affiliate links. And by 2005 the number was up to around 30 blogs. When I was writing content for my 30-odd blogs, the quality of that content wasn’t great. The rest of my blogs. It worked really well.

Pete Cashmore never went to college; instead, he founded Mashable in 2005. For those bloggers who think content is everything, think again. Yes, interesting and fresh content is super-important, but knowing how to present it is just as important. It was founded in 2005 by the same person. Nice little story, right?

By no means was it a “job&# (not even a part-time one), but I was earning $6 a day and was starting to get an inkling that there could just be some potential if I could only keep the earnings from my AdSense ads trending up each month. Georgina works with guest writers on both blogs as well as creating content of her own.

This came about because a particular client started “liking&# that we personally delivered content to him rather than emailing a 2MB file. Is this going to last indefinitely, or is it a temporary “parents are away so let’s party&# mindset that will eventually give way to sustainable business models beyond AdSense?

AdSense – dPA has a large amount of traffic, so it pays to use AdSense along with other income streams. Other Royalties/Copyright payments such as when my content is used in schools in Australia. It brings in an income, you don ’ t have too many expenses apart from actually writing some content to promote it.

These events are designed with very similar goals to this podcast – to help bloggers to grow blogs with world changing content, with lots of readers and which are profitable. By 2005, I think I had about 30 blogs including that network of blogs that I was involved with at that time.
