The High Point: Facebook In 2004, I joined Facebook and my behavior changed drastically. Social media connections are those I know through a variety of online forums, the blogosphere, Twitter, and the like (but I generally don’t befriend someone immediately; I still give it time). I had many friends just like that.

Later, several other websites such as Classmates.com and Friendster contributed to the development of social networking to help reach our present day scenario, where we see the domination of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google+. Current social networks in the growth stage are Twitter and Facebook.

Mark Zuckerburg launched Facebook in 2004 for his friendsand classmates at Harvard University, then continued to branch it out to otherschools. Nobody expected it to even overtake social-networking giant MySpace,as it did in 2008, and eventually have more users than the USA has citizens. Follow him on Twitter.

My first profile was on Myspace , my first friend was “Tom from Myspace,” and my first post was something like, “Myspace is awesome!” Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey told CNBC in 2013 how that changed Twitter and the way people get news. One small tweet began the Twitter revolution.

Back in 2004, a film named Fröken Sverige was released, starring Alexandra Dahlströhm. It was the same year Facebook launched for Harvard students, the year after the arrival of Myspace, and two years before Twitter arrived. In March, 2007, I joined Twitter. And I have a particular example to illustrate it.

It’s hard to explain passion for Twitter or a love of a blog. Facebook’s intended purpose when created by Mark Zuckerberg in 2004 was for connecting college students with each other in their respective universities. Or why we continue to spend so much time blogging even if it’s not bringing in money. Mafia Wars?
