AdSense – 8%. I started blogging in late 2002. They were costing me money, and not just from me buying domain names and hosting. I discovered AdSense (Google’s advertising network), and started putting their ads on my blog. I learned how tweaking things in AdSense (the number of ads, their sizes, their positions, etc.)

But while are definitely benefits in having two well-established blogs, those benefits come at a cost. So this week I want to talk about both the benefits and the costs of having multiple blogs so you can decide whether it’s worth doing. My first blog. The rest of my blogs. It worked really well. In fact, most of it was pretty boring.

AdSense – dPA has a large amount of traffic, so it pays to use AdSense along with other income streams. Back in 2002 when I first started blogging, and then over the next couple years started to make money for my blogs, the first question I would almost always be asked when I say to someone I ’ m a blogger. I’m fortunate enough to have been able to build them up so that either one of them could be a full time venture which is great – but having two businesses to focus upon not only comes with some benefits – but some costs. Having two businesses comes with benefits but it also comes at a cost. That’s why I did it, it worked.
