Almost Savvy

The Problem. I’ve been in pain for the last month. At first, the pain in my hand would come and go. Gradually, the pain moved to my wrist, up my arm and eventually to my shoulder. Mindjumpers

Tweet After having celebrated 1 year with the Facebook Like button, Facebook is ready with a new feature, namely the Send button, which was launched yesterday. The Send button lets you easily share a link with specific people instead of sharing it with your entire network, as you do with the Like button. What Twitter could learn from Facebook Deals

Direct Marketing Observations

I know that the comparisons between Facebook and Twitter are not justified. Facebook is really about developing deeper relationships with friends and family whereas Twitter is more about sharing and consuming information with people in a quick and easy fashion. Please stop telling me to “feel free.&#. It’s one of the most ridiculous phrases I come across … and I come across it frequently. You know, as in when people email you asking for something … but they don’t want come right out and ask for it, so instead, they tell you to “feel free&# to do it. A Few Things I've Learned From My 260,000 Fan Facebook Page

Stay N' Alive

I manage several Facebook Pages in the hundreds of thousands, but of those, one I've had the privilege of personally owning (the others are owned by Brands I represent). Somehow, my first book's Facebook Page ( [link] ), has accrued over 260,000 fans in just a few months, and it's been a lot of fun having the experience of managing a personal Facebook Page with that many fans that I can do whatever I want with.

Do The Work!

Twist Image

Wearing a suit and tie was never my thing. In fact, I can remember being in my late teens and swearing that I would wear nothing but jeans in my professional life (my personal rage against the corporate machine). Some dreams die-hard. While I succumbed to the standard business attire for a while (I'm back to jeans now), it wasn't until reading Richard Florida 's 2004 best-selling business book, The Rise Of The Creative Class , when the concept struck me: a professional has little to with a unive

How To Hire A Marketing Agency

Twist Image

The process of hiring a Marketing agency feels old. and somewhat broken. What used to be an experience about finding a true, valuable partner (someone who will sit there with the brand managers in the darkest of nights trying to get the brand just right) has morphed into a vendor/supplier type of relationship. Yes, there are some exceptions, but we live in a world where a Chief Marketing Officer's lifespan is under two years long and it's not a much better track record for the average agency eit

Twitter Best in Events and Emergencies

Net-Savvy Executive

On an average day, I don't spend much time with Twitter. It's the social media water cooler , where there's always something interesting but rarely anything I can't afford to miss. I know, I should make better use of lists to manage the load, but on a typical day, it just doesn't matter much. To me, it's the unusual days that really prove Twitter's value.
