A public outcry over the removal of Gilda Radner’s name from the iconic cancer support group has turned into a public relations and branding case study of ‘what not to do.’. When a local United States affiliate of Gilda’s Club decided to ‘freshen up’ their name in an effort to appeal to younger cancer patients, thus eliminating the ‘Gilda’ from Gilda’s Club, a social media maelstrom ensued.
