Social Media’s Crowdsourced Week 11 NFL Picks

Jeff Esposito

Welcome to Week 11 of the NFL season, the last week where teams have a bye and seven weeks until the start of the NFL Playoffs. How has your team fared? Perhaps a better question is how are you doing in selecting the winners for each weekend’s games? Hopefully you are faring better than my 72-73 record after 10 weeks after a 7-9 showing in week 10. Seeing that record you might be thinking to yourself as to how a guy who used to work in the NFL was performing so crappy in terms of weekly picks.

Passion works better than celebrity for social fundraising

Jeff Esposito

Over the past year or so I have been fascinated by how non-profits utilize social media. Aside from building awareness of their causes through engagement, many of these organizations use the space to drive donations. When it comes to social fundraising, I have always been skeptical about celebrities or web-personalities acting as spokespeople. I’ve read countless studies on the folly of using these individuals as spokespeople in the for-profit space.

It is that time of year again, you know, the one where grown men grow the elusive mustachio in an effort to raise awareness and fight mens’ cancers. What is this awesomeness you ask? For the second year in a row, I will be donating my follicaly challenged upper lip to help fight testicular and prostate cancer along with my MoBros on Team Boston , I am also being joined by the Mustache Kid (AKA Baby Espo).

Be thankful you don’t have cancer

Jeff Esposito

This post contains video, please click here if you cannot view. Thanksgiving is a time where we all take a step back and give thanks for things that we may have taken for granted. One thing that I am thankful that I know you are thankful for is this glorious mustache that I have been growing for Movember. While it is easy to note the awesome comedy that the ‘stache offers to you, one thing you probably don’t know is that it is fighting cancer.

Crowdsourcing the NFL’s Thanksgiving Weekend Winners

Jeff Esposito

Starting tomorrow, the NFL kicks off the 12 th week of the 2011 season. The bye weeks are gone and the stretch run is n full swing. While the NFC has a two-horse race for the top two seeds, the AFC is wide open with four teams owning a 7-3 mark. So it is still anyone’s game. With that said, my weekly picks using social media buzz metrics via Lithium’s Social media monitoring tool have not fared as well.

Klout, Hugging Kids, 2012 Social Business Predictions & more

Jeff Esposito

I am happy for it to be Friday. Aside from heading into a short week for Thanksgiving next week, I just need time to kick back and relax and am sure you feel the same. Aside from a hectic workweek I had to do work most nights when I got home as my family was dealing with a pest problem and we have been trying to resituate Casa La Espo, to mild success.
