February 2012: Ottawa’s Twitter top 20

Sherrilynne Starkie

After a brief absence (December and January) the Ottawa Twitter top 20 makes its return. I started doing these tables over a year ago to illustrate how being popular (Grader) on Twitter doesn’t necessarily mean you have influence (TweetLevel). Over time many of the names have changed, established handles have slipped and new ones enter the fray.

Can A Small Business Survive Online With A DIY Mindset?

Small Business Mavericks

The business world can be brutal, and the online business world is even more so. Name me a product and a price and I daresay I could find a handful of offers that beat yours either on price, service or reputation. Monday Muse #1: Mitch Joel

Ari Herzog

Ask bloggers to list other bloggers they respect and Mitch Joel’s name usually comes up. He’s the president of digital marketing agency Twist Image , and the author of Six Pixels of Separation, the name of his book , podcast , and blog. I confess never listening to his podcast, but his blog is in my RSS reader for top-notch writing and a Canadian slant to controversial issues; and I’ve also read the book.

Convince & Convert

Mimicry is not a strategy. Compulsion is not a strategy. Yet, far too many agencies are devoting resources to content marketing and social media solely because they feel they have to do so. Other agencies have a blog, and Webinars, and an active Twitter feed, so we need some of that too! To what end?
